Guam Day 102 - Post Ride Mexican Food
6/4/2022 - Let me tell you, this is the place for a burrito after a 50 mile ride. I mean, any burrito is probably pretty good, but this little side of the road stand now has a close place in my heart. Joan and I extended our south loop by tacking on another 10 miles to start at Asan Beach. We were wiped out by the end of it, very hungry by noon. We drove back south to Agat where the Buen Provencho taco stand is. We each had a burrito and on top of that split a fish taco. The fish taco was fresh grilled yellow tuna, amazingly fresh. What made the burrito was the cheese that was grilled into the torilla prior to rolling up all the ingredients. A little rice, pork, corn, black beans, and most importantly green salsa and chipotle sauce to top it off. I would ride another 50 miles just to have another one of these.
This reminds me of being in Mexico and visiting great friends. And because if that I just love Mexican food. So cool that you can get such a treat where you are. It's worth the ride indeed.
ReplyDeleteFifty miles. Wow! There's not a soft enough seat in the world for me to attempt that! I'm super impressed!
ReplyDeleteAdam gave us a driving tour of this 50 mile coastal ride. From the map I was mentally imagining a cruise along sandy beaches with gently undulating hills. The route was not at all what I had imagined. The hills were steep and continued throughout the route. Lots of soaring ocean views on top of the ancient lava flows with immediate drops to tiny villages and harbors. This is a TOUGH ride. Lots of gear changing and thigh burns. A two burrito ride would be justifiable. We had a terrific lunch at this amazing little restaurant last week. No big ride for me though!
