Guam Day 85 - Mt. Lamb Lamb

5/8/2022 - A nice hike with Joan today up the tallest mountain in the world. Remember its all in how you measure what the tallest is, Mt. Lamb Lamb starts at the bottom of the Marianas trench. Top to bottom this is the tallest, so take that Everest. Im really glad our hike is only a couple miles to the summit, there really is no good way to start at the bottom of the trench. I know our diving has been going well, but no human can scuba that deep.

The views here give a great sense of how hilly and mountainous the southern half of the island is. Uninhabited too. Trail wise, the greenery grows so fast that the trail in spots is market by a piece of colored plastic tape in the trees. There must be times in the year where the trail is more open than others, the human traffic seems to help keep the trail in place and that foliage trimmed back. Volcanic rock and dense clay is what makes up most of our footpath all the way to the top. We learned first hand how slick this terrain can be as we had the daily Guam rain come in just as we summited. Even in clouds this place is really pretty, and that rain is a welcome site as it cools you off in the warm Pacific Sun. ⛅️

We are really going to miss this place in just a few short months. Taking in all the sites and sun we can.

  1. Enjoy the beauty my friend. Careful you don't slip on the wet trails. 😏 Beautiful view. Reminds me of Kauai, so breathtaking. Such a gift you both have right now.

  2. Beautiful images. Fun adventure. Now that you've climbed the tallest mountain, what would be the point of climbing any others?
