Guam Day 83 - Friday Night Baseball
5/6/2020 - Even this far in the Pacific Ocean, Americas past time is played, maybe a bit earlier in time on Fridays than on the mainland. Tonights game is the Pirates vs the Dodgers, one of our friends, maybe we will call him Sam, plays on the Pirates. You have seen him in some of my golf foursome posts, he is quite the athlete. A great night out with many of our friends coming out to cheer Sam on. The small stadium built here is really nice, I would argue that it would work as a AA or AAA stadium without too much problem. Sam had a number of great hits resulting in 2 RBIs for the night. The Dodgers were the team to beat in this local league, and the Pirates brought the upset home.
Prior Joan and I had some time to walk around the area, the Chamorro village has a number of nice parks, a market area, a fishing pier, and includes the stadium as well. Lots to take a look at. This photo is at the fishing pier, the painted Hafa Adai sign is very well done. Great start to the weekend.
Nice. Another learning experience for me, for I wouldn't have thought there would be a baseball stadium. So did you get Sam's signature? 😉 Do either of you like to fish? Wonder what it would be like to catch something? Nice Friday night indeed.
ReplyDeleteI think Dave means, "did you get Sam's autograph?" 🤔
