Guam Day 21 - The Tsubaki Hotel, an Infinity Pool and Soi Restaurant

3/5/2021 - Today was a major highlight of our adventure here on Guam, we treated ourselves to a stay in the Tsubaki hotel and a dinner night out. Like a mini honeymoon during our larger 7 month honeymoon. (insert laugh here, please) Joan signed up for a pass that is quite popular here on Guam called the PHR club. It gives us three nights in one of five hotels in the Tumon Bay Area, and around 15 pool passes to spend the day lounging and watching the bay from a swimming pool.The first image is from our view in our hotel room over the bay. The third is a picture of the infinity pool, I don't think there can be anything higher brow than sitting in an infinity pool, with a fancy beverage, next to a white sand beach. The beach alone is an incredible luxury. Also the rooms at these places are decorated impeccably, the Tsubaki as you would guess has a Japanese theme that has been elegantly applied to the whole building. Dinner out was at a restaurant called Soi, a Thai restaurant, about half a mile from where we stayed. Once again, another beautifully decorated room, globe like lighting, high ceilings, and modern tableware and plates. We split a yellow curry and a hot and sour soup family style. Great food, we loved the whole experience from the design of the room to the layout of the meal, the wait staff was amazing as well.  We will definitely come back here if the opportunity arises, great date. To close out the day we went to the top of the Tsubaki and looked out on the island all lit up in the night. At 30 stories tall you get a very different view of the island, a brilliance of light but also a sense of just how small it is. Cheers to you readers, and hope you are having a good weekend.
