3/4/2022 - I decided it was time to get out of the tiny house for the full day. Post dropping off Joan I continued to head south on the island toward the dive shop in Piti. We signed up for the week of 3/14 to be trained in open water, we can't wait. Part of the requirement for the class was to get properly fitted for a snorkel, mask, shoes, flippers and some safety gear. A good hour was spent just checking out the cool gear and getting fitted.

Gear in the car, I pushed onward to driving the south side of the island. As you drive south of Piti, which is on the west coast about 1/2 way down, the views turn from cities to rural sitings to lush green mountains.

Some of you will laugh at my pictures and say "mountains?", locally these are high enough peaks to be mountains. (Note there is no tree line break at the top) Interesting fact though, Guam is just north east of the Marianas Trench in the Pacific Ocean, if you measure from the top of the highest mountain on Guam, Mt Lam Lam, to the lowest part of the Marianas Trench, some 10,000 leagues, Mt. Lam Lam would be the highest mountain on earth. This of course assumes you are measuring Mt. Everest to sea level.

The loop of the island is around 2 -3 hours depending on how often you stop, a terrific view of this lush rock. My Vitamin D is back to normal levels and Joan and I are looking forward to the weekend.
